We fix mistakes in public. If a post, chart or data file has a mistake, we change it, add a note at the top of the post, set the post's "Last updated" date, and add an entry here. We do not edit things quietly.

Report a mistake

Email [email protected] with the post, the number or sentence, and what you think is right. We reply, check the claim against the source, and publish the fix here if you are right.

What an entry contains

• An ID (C-001, C-002 and so on).
• The date we found the mistake and the date we fixed it.
• The post and its link.
• What was wrong, copied exactly.
• What is right.
• The cause.
• Who found it and who checked the fix.
• Any chart or CSV file that changed.
